Health and Safety Management Programme

which includes hazard analysis and risk assessment, how to implement control measures to reduce or remove hazards,  within the facility, monitoring, recording and reporting.

Manual Handling

which includes the care of themselves in the work environment but also the students as ergonomic safety is very important as more and more students and staff are on their phones texting and students often playing games, the constant tilt of the head putting pressure on ones spine, the same can apply to computers and laptop use, position of chairs and desk heights. Having awareness of the impacts of ergonomic safety is an important Risk factor of the manual handling programme

Culture Organisational Awareness

bringing understanding of the importance of a positive and healthy work environment which impacts on mental health, work performance, communication and social interaction. for example, Adapting to change, creating strategies to provide smooth transitions for change of roles within your work environment.

Manual Handling

this is a two year certification by Melanger designed to provide young people with basic manual handling skills to provide safety for themselves and others in the workplace, preparing them for part time employment or work experience. The learning also includes team lifting and moving, following instruction and how to prevent injury when lifting, the  learning is supported by the HSA (Health and Safety Authority) standards and legislation.

Waste Management Programme

designed especially for young adults. consists of planning a waste Audit within the educational facility.  A Video on circular economy and reducing and recycling suggestions is shown, the students then engage with a  group discussion on sustainable waste management and how it can be integrated into their  facility.

They make a plan and divide into groups. The groups consist of election of a leader, a  media operator (taking photos), monitors (collecting data), collectors (collecting the bins), sorters, inspectors (ensuring no disturbance to other  students and ensuring all PPE garments are worn), Record keeper, Audit analysis,and the class or group presentation to their peers. This programme supports the green directive and encourages students to be innovators and leaders, planners and builders of sustainable environments  for our future.

Primary School Going Digitalize

Melanger provides workshops which promotes the green flag and engages with the children by providing fun activities and explaining the circular economy and encouraging the young children how to create a caring and protective culture within their homes and school.
